T-Systems GmbH is a German IT services and consulting company headquartered in Frankfurt. It was founded in 2000, as a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. T-Systems is one of the largest European IT services companies. The company operates in more than 20 countries and has approximately 47 800 employees, 50% of which are employed outside Germany. It has annual revenues of around Euro 8.6b. Its business unit for Digital Engineering Solutions serves German and European engineering organizations, and is the home of MEDINA.
T-Systems’ MEDINA (Model EDitor Interactive for Numerical Simulation Analysis) product is a general pre-/postprocessor for finite element analysis. The development of MEDINA started in the early 1990s at Daimler-Benz, but responsibility for maintenance and support was eventually transferred to T-Systems, and MEDINA is now part of T-Systems’ software product portfolio.
T-Systems has integrated GLview Express Writer into MEDINA. The GLview Express Writer allows MEDINA users to export 3D animations of arbitrary simulation results as lightweight VTFx files. These VTFx files can be visualized with the free 3D viewers from Ceetron on Windows, Linux and UNIX. The use of VTFx files allows MEDINA users to share, communicate and present their simulation results also with their non-simulation peers, both in the stand-alone viewers and directly in PowerPoint presentations using the Ceetron 3D Plugin for Microsoft Office.
